Playing without signal
Many courses are in forests and valleys with weak or no mobile signal. Hyzeer keeps working: you can play a whole game without signal, and everything is sent when your phone is back online. You don't need to do anything.
Before you go
- Open the course once while you have signal. Every course you open is saved on your phone. To be sure, open the course page and tap Save for offline.
- Open your discs once if you use advanced scoring, so the disc list is on your phone.
- Join a friend's game before you lose signal. Joining with an invite code needs a connection. Without signal, start your own game and join theirs later with your round.
What works without signal
- Creating and starting a private game, on a saved course or without a course.
- Adding guests.
- Simple and advanced scoring, including GPS throws.
- Finishing the game, if you are the owner.
- Your current games, the games you opened, and your history.
Public games, joining, renaming guests and editing a game need a connection.
How you know where your scores are
At the top of the scoring screen:
- Synced — the server has everything.
- Offline — saved on this phone — your scores are safe on your phone and are sent when there is signal.
- Not saved yet — trying again — there is signal, but the server didn't answer. Your phone keeps trying.
You can close the app; nothing is lost. When you open it again, you continue on the same hole.
Provisional results
Without signal, your phone works out the results from the scores it has and marks them Provisional. Other players' scores arrive when their phones sync, so the results can change. When everyone has synced, you see the server's results.
When scores arrive late
- The game finished before your phone synced. Your scores are kept in your round and marked Not counted. They don't change the results or your best scores. In a public game, the scoring screen warns you when less than an hour is left and some scores are still only on your phone.
- You left the game, or the owner removed you. Your scores go to your round, which continues as your own game.
- Your round no longer exists (for example, you deleted its game on another phone). The app tells you how many scores could not be saved.
Logging out
Logging out deletes everything Hyzeer saved on this phone. If some changes haven't reached the server yet, the app warns you first: connect to the internet and wait for Synced before you log out.
