Lost discs
Put a Hyzeer label on your discs. Whoever finds a lost one scans the label with their phone camera and tells you where it is. They don't need an account or the app, and they never see your name or contact details.
Labels
- Print your own. On the Discs tab, open the menu and choose Print labels. Choose your discs, a label size (small, under the rim, or medium, on the flight plate) and how many blank labels you want. Use waterproof sticker paper and a clear protective cover, and print at 100% scale. The labels of the discs you chose work as soon as the PDF is made.
- Blank labels are reserved for you. To use one later, scan it in the app and choose the disc it is on (Attach label). Blank labels never expire. If you lose a sheet, open Label sheets and deactivate it.
- One label per disc. On a disc's page you can Move its label to another disc or Replace label. A replaced label stops working.
- Selling or giving a disc away? Deactivate its label on the disc's page. Whoever scans it then sees "This label is no longer active".
When you lose a disc
Open the disc and tap Mark as lost. You can add the course, the date and a note, such as "in the pond at hole 7". The disc is taken out of your bag. Its label keeps working.
You don't have to mark a disc as lost to get messages: the label works either way.
What the finder sees
The finder sees "You found a disc!", advice on where to leave it (a lost & found box, or a tree branch near a basket), and a form. They write where the disc is and can add a photo and their location. The page doesn't show the disc's name, your name or anything about you. It opens in the finder's phone language, English or Slovenian, and loads quickly even with a weak signal.
The finder gets no reply, and you can't see who they are.
When someone finds your disc
- By email. You get an email right away, in your language, with the message, and the photo and a map link if the finder added them.
- In the app. The Discs tab shows how many new found reports you have. Open Found reports from the Discs page, or from the disc's own page. A report you open in the app is marked Seen.
Go and get the disc, then close the report:
- I got it back closes the report as returned. If the disc was marked as lost, the app asks whether to put it back in your bag. If there are other open reports about the same disc, it offers to close them too.
- Not returned closes the report when you couldn't find the disc.
- Spam closes a report that isn't about your disc. Hyzeer's team looks at spam and can block the sender or stop messages for the label.
A closed report can't be reopened.
How long reports are kept
- A report you leave open closes by itself after 90 days, as Not returned.
- The finder's photo and location are deleted 90 days after the report is closed. The message stays.
- To stop abuse, Hyzeer keeps a code made from the finder's network address and device for 90 days. It can't be turned back into the address, and no one at Hyzeer sees it.
If messages stop arriving
- Check your spam folder for emails from Hyzeer. The reports are always in the app.
- A finder can send a limited number of messages a day. If someone sends many, they are told to try again later.
- If a label gets a lot of spam, Hyzeer's team may stop messages for it. Write to support if you think a label of yours was stopped by mistake.
